We can occasionally be seen on the lecturing circuit, providing training to fellow property professionals and keep up to date with training ourselves in a comprehensive programme. Our Surveyors often support Surveyors from other companies as well in providing training and support, including mock interviews for APC assessments for aspiring Chartered Surveyors.
We work on the basis of specialisms within the team so the appropriate work is undertaken by the appropriate person. Nobody is a jack of all trades. We’re all masters of a small number of specialisms.

If you’ve recently had an offer accepted on buying a property, the first thing to say is congratulations. Moving home is one of the most stressful things we can do in life but also one of the most rewarding, as we lay down roots in our new surroundings.
The next thing to consider is whether or not to take an RICS Home Survey done on the property. Think of it like a health check. We all have a few aches and pains from time to time and so do properties. The difference though is that if the house or flat you’ve fallen in love with has some aches and pains, it could soon become a nightmare.
With most purchases we make in life, if something doesn’t work, we can simply take it back to the shops and get a refund. The same doesn’t apply with a property. Once you’ve bought it, it is buyer beware. If there are problems, they are your problems to sort and they can be costly. Newbuild properties normally come with guarantees but they are more expensive as a result.
With anything else, the need for a Home Survey to check what you’re potentially spending hundreds of thousands of pounds if not more on is what you think you’re getting.
