I contacted Webster’s surveyors regarding a property and from the first phone call to the last I found this company... efficient, polite and professional. They are very reasonably priced, they attended the property quickly and the report was also with me quickly. The report was thorough and very easy to understand, and has helped me greatly with the issues found, which will determine if I proceed or not, potentially saving me thousands of pounds.Cannot recommend enough.read more

our expertise

We pride ourselves in the specialisms within which we operate. Our Senior team members have decades of experience and our Junior team members have far more training than most Surveying practices of similar size to us.

For example, Richard has undertaken hundreds of lease extensions, Dan has undertaken over a thousand statutory valuations (Compulsory Purchase and Tax predominantly) and Mark has provided thousands of Home Surveys.

We believe in specialism as it helps ensure that the service we provide is of a high quality.

We also maintain our expertise both by regularly attending CPD training events and also in being the trainers ourselves when providing seminars to other property professionals.

We’re a professional and friendly bunch and are always happy to answer questions about what we do.

We understand that in today’s modern and technologically driven world, time is precious. It is often difficult to strike the correct balance between time and quality and often work that is done very quickly can lack quality or substance. At Websters Surveyors we believe in providing quality reports with high quality professional advice and doing so very quickly. We don’t believe that a compromise on either time or quality should be made.

Our Chartered Surveyors, that specialise in a range of residential valuations and home surveys believe that everyone’s situation is unique and that all our clients deserve a bespoke, tailored service. That is why, at Websters, we carry out thorough research and market analysis on all of our valuations in order to provide the most up to date and accurate advice.

Our investment in technology and approach to allocating Surveyors with the appropriate specialism helps ensure that we are quick and we are thorough.

Statutory tax valuations

If you are selling a property held as investment where a Capital Gain is made, legislation introduced in 200 provides that Capital Gains tax needs to be paid within 30 days if the disposal is after 6th April 2020.

To determine the amount of tax payable, you may need a Market Valuation report. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors provide Industry best practice for such reports within a document known as the RICS Red Book. This also references Section 272 of the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992.

Getting a report right not only ensures that the right amount of tax then becomes payable. It also ensures that it is far less likely to be challenged by HMRC, mitigating the risk of costly and time consuming challenges including penalty provision.

If you trying to secure Probate following the death of a property owner, you may also require an Inheritance tax valuation report. This again, is regulated by the RICS Red Book and can help determine the amount of tax payable as well as being a requirement for gaining probate in some circumstances.

Our Chartered Surveyors and RICS Registered Valuers are able to help with providing Statutory Market Valuation reports for assessment of tax payable.
